Thursday

This & That from FL

We had to get back down to Florida one last time before returning to Germany. I was so excited that the morning we arrived, Brandy was able to meet us for breakfast. She is just too sweet! Yes, it was 6am and she got out of bed just for us. I felt very blessed that during this deployment this was our 3rd time getting to see her. Thank you Brandy for taking time to spend with us.
We also got an evening out with the McKinney's, this wasn't our first time getting to spend time with them in Florida. Our family has had many special trips with them. We tried to bring Sid, but his mama wouldn't let us. Maybe next time!!!
We were able to go to Disney Quest as well as Old Town, two of my favorite places in Orlando. Mama, and Kynsley had never been to DQ, we had so much fun on the Pirate ship as well as the Jungle cruise.
I'm so glad we were able to take this trip together, we had a wonderful weekend and I know I'll always treasure out "Mother/Daughter" weekend we shared!

Tuesday

A day with Brandy Bittman

While pregnant with Kynsley, I took an office job with Entertainment Scheduling, there is where I met one of the greatest friends I've ever had! Brandy is simply amazing! She has become not only a friend but apart of our family. She was able to be apart of my entire pregnancy and even drove up to NC to be at the celebration of Kynsley's first birthday. We're praying that she'll be able to visit us in Germany. With each visit to Disney, Brandy always makes time to spend with us. We enjoy getting to share our time with her, she is just one of those people you enjoy being around. After a day in the parks with a 3 year old she knows how exhausting it is to be a mom! She joked that she didn't mind carrying Kynsley and taking her to the bathroom~she was a "mother in training" I pray that God will BLESS her life, because she deserves the BEST!!

*Kynsley rode her first roller-coaster* We were so proud of her, wish I could of captured the face she was making as we took the BIG drop!!!

Saturday

A Whole New World

I'm not sure how I'm going to put this magical moment into words. I've known Aladdin for many years so getting to see him was very exciting for me.\
Once over to Jasmine, Kynsley had each one of them to sign their autograph. We reminded Aladdin that Kynsley had a photo of the two of them when she was only 2 weeks old. With the magic of Pixie Dust, Aladdin told Kynsley he did remember her as a little baby. We took a few photos and then let Aladdin and Jasmine finish up with the other guest in line. As we were walking away, Kynsley started to get upset, she reminded us that she forgot to sing to Aladdin. This was something she had planned to do. But like the rest of us she was "star struck" and just forgot to sing.
Aladdin saw us waiting off to the side and once he finished up with the last guest he started walking over to us. He then reached over the fence and picked Kynsley a beautiful Orange Gerber Daisy, then he started singing to her. "A Whole New World" and at the part of tell me princess, he said, "tell me Kynsley." I looked over at mama and she was wiping tears off of her check. I just stood there and let the tears just roll on down my cheeks. What a MAGICAL moment we shared with him. I know that this deployment has been hard on Kynsley, but seeing her face light up makes all the sad times we've had just go away. Disney really is a magical place. I'm so thankful for my friends I have in the Entertainment Department~THANK YOU ALADDIN!!

Ariel's Grotto

Everyone knows that Ariel is Kynsleys favorite Disney character. Once inside the grotto we were able to spend lots of time with her. Ariel noticed that Kynsley was dressed from Head to Toe in Mermaid attire(literally). She told Ariel that sometimes she gets in trouble for using her "fork" as a "dingle hopper" at the supper table. Ariel just giggled. She got lots of hugs and and even left a lipstick print on her check that she wouldn't let us wipe off!

Just a few characters

What an amazing day we had at the Magic Kingdom~I feel like seeing the characters is one of the greatest highlights of a Disney trip. I love walking into a room and seeing "old" friends. And Kynsley is shocked when they already know her name~but to her, that is just part of the magic!

The past few weeks, Kynsley has been afraid of windows at night. After having a talk with her she told me she was worried that Captain Hook would come get her. I would always tell her that Peter Pan was near by and not to worry but it didn't matter to her coming from me. I was so glad that we had to chance to talk to Peter Pan. We explained the little night time nightmares and he assured Kynsley NOT to worry, he would be watching her window at night. The rest of the day she was telling us that she was not afraid because Peter Pan was watching the window.

Chef Mickey's

Our first morning in Orlando, we had to get a "taste" of Disney. We woke up early to make our reservation at Chef Mickey's. This was Kynsley's first time getting to attend a character dinning. Its always fun for me since I've been on "both sides of the table" But I enjoyed seeing the excitement of Kynsley's eyes when a character would come up to greet her. She showed all of them her daddy doll and Minnie took daddy and started giving him lots of kisses. I told her she better back off because he belonged to me!!! Later, Mickey and Minnie came over and gave Kynsley a cupcake, the waitress told us we were celebrating her just because she was here. Although our day started off really early, it was worth it!
