Sunday

its beginning to look alot like Christmas....

All 3 of us were so excited to start getting the Christmas decorations up. Scottie and I started a tradition a few years ago, when the Christmas tree gets put up we get to open our first present for the holiday season....a new ornament. Something that represents the past year. Our tree looks beautiful full of ornaments over the last few years, and lots of Disney characters....we even added a German pickle! We also added 2 new trees...one in Kynsley's room filled with all kinds of characters and many many fruitloops! The other in our room, decorated to match our room decor all the ornaments in Red & White

Baking.....

While daddy put the tree up, Kynsley and Mommie baked Christmas Cookies...daddy is a cookie expert and told us only to leave them in for 8 mins....he was right...they were perfect! Even the ones that had little teeth marks from where Kynsley took a little taste before they went into the oven!

Saturday

getting ready for the BIG day....

We had a big Thanksgiving this year. We invited all the single soldiers from Scotties squad over. With a 25 pound turkey in the oven, Homemade Chocolate Pecan Pie & all the yummy side items I believe they were all "stuffed" when they left. I enjoyed our time together as a "family". There are so many things that we have this year to be Thankful for!

after a long day...

Our friends Chad & Kristy were such a huge help in getting everything ready for this special day. They are such great friends and we're "thankful" for them!

527th MP 2nd PLT Thanksgiving dinner

Our Platoon all got together the night before Thanksgiving to celebrate together.

Thursday

yes...we really have to pay!

50 Euro cent to use this public restroom at the Bahnhof(train station). You have to insert the money into the machine on the outside of the door. Once the money is in, the door unlocks....so if you really have to go...you better hope you have correct change! Not all places charge, many resturants are free to customers. But most other publice places you have to pay including gas stations. Maybe if they did this in America people would respect it more and keep it clean!

Tuesday

Indian head band

I've been trying to do a few coloring sheets and crafts with Kynsley in the mornings. Yesterday we made an Indian head band. She surprised her daddy when he came home from work with a big.."ta da".

Monday

Let it Snow...

A few snow photos from this past weekend!

Sunday

another trip to see Daddy!

Another week down and we were able to go back to the training base and see Scottie again. This time Kristy and Chad rode with me. Once again we were all 3 so happy to see each other and Kynsley was all smiles.

Rothenburg ob der Tauber

The legend began in 1631, while the Thirty Years war was raging between Catholics and Protestants. Rothenburg, a Protestant town, was about to be overrun by a Catholic army. Just before the carnage was to begin, the Catholic general offered a deal. If anyone could drink a three-liter tankard of wine in one gulp, the town would be spared.

Rothenburg's mayor rushed forward to take the challenge. Mayor Nusch grabbed the tankard, swilled down the wine in one gulp, and passed out for three days while the town rejoiced over his extraordinary commitment to civic duty. This magic Meistertrunk moment is immortalized in the clock on the Councilors' Tavern on the Marktplatz. This is the same building where the tourist information office is located. At certain hours during the day, the clock's figures reenact Mayor Nusch's sacrificial gulp for his people while the Catholic general eggs him on.

Rothenburg happens to be one of favorite places in Germany. So any chance I get to go I'm all for it. Kristy, Cassie, Kynsley, and I spent the day shopping and touring around inside the castle walls. We enjoyed a traditional Turkish Donner and warmed up with hot chocolate in the afternoon. I love the cobblestone walkways and all horse drawn carriages strolling the streets!

Road trip to see daddy

Scottie is away training at another base. Thankfully we're allowed to have meals with him on Sundays. So the Fords rode with Kynsley and I and we were so happy to have dinner and supper with him. Kynsley couldn't get enough hugs in! She was so happy to see her daddy! And so was I!!!

Friday

:but the greatest of these is LOVE.

66 years of pure love. I was blessed to be at home during my grandparents celebration of 66 years of marriage. We enjoyed a steak dinner at their favorite lil' diner.

I Corth. 13
Charity suffereth long, is not puffed up. Doth not behave itself unseemly, no evil. Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth. Beareth all things, believth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things. Charity never faileth. And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three:but the greatest of these is charity.
