Welcome Home Ceremony

Scottie's Team

Scotties team while downrange. SPC Weber from Texas, and SGT Sanders from Arkansas. Wouldn't you know he'd be stuck with 2 southern boys the entire 15 months.(sucha a lucky man) I'm proud of their team and thankful that they always had Scotties back.

Wednesday

My heart is RED, WHITE, & BLUE

I'm always proud when I see my husband standing in his uniform. On July 4th, we joined the entire 527th MP CO for an awards ceremony in Holenfels, Germany. I'm honored to call myself an Army Wife and so proud of Scottie and his accomplishments in his career.

Tuesday

The Fun Stuff

After the ceremony we took Kynsley over to the "fun stuff". They had arranged for a few bouncy houses to be there and a HUGE water slide. I thought she would be a little scared to climb so high up the slide, but she wasn't afraid. She LOVED it. Scottie actually got soaked himself because he literally had to pick her up and carry her to the car...she didn't want to leave. But you gotta love her Americana swim suit!!!

Blumen

One of the many things I love about Germany. The Blumen fields. There a flower fields all around were we live. Right now the fields are glowing with the bright yellow Sunflower. Which just happens to be my favorite flower. Each field has an honor system. A barrel and a few knives. You just toss in a few euros and cut away. This is also how they sell many of their crops including strawberries.

Date Nite

Craig Ferguson along with Matt Baetz came to Ansbach, with the USO to put on a knee slapping funny comedy show. The night was for adults only. We were fortunate enough that one of the teens from church came to the house to keep Kynsley. This was a great date nite for Scottie and I. I'm so thankful for the history of the USO and the "little" people behind the scenes who make these events happen. I'm also grateful for the many celebrities who take the time to actually come over to entertain the troops and their families.

Monday

Its a HAPPY day

While Scottie was downrange, I sent him many packages of goodies. At the first of May they asked us to stop mailing any packages. So I held on to a few gifts. The first morning home Kynsley wanted him to open all of them. We had his Birthday, our anniversary, and Fathers Day to celebrate. Not to mention a few for just coming home. Kynsley loved helping her daddy rip into the paper. Later we enjoyed breakfast together.

Getting a "REAL" kiss

The candy jar was empty and Kynsley knew that at bedtime she was getting a REAL kiss from daddy. Scottie came right in, helped get Kynsley in her pjs and read her a story. A long day had a very happy ending.

Sunday

Waiting the last hour....

The hardest part of the 15 month deployment.

American Soldier

Once the song started to play so did the tears. I felt so proud standing there waiting for those doors to open. My heart was beating so fast but the thoughts of all the last 15months came to mind. All the times I needed him for a shoulder to cry on and the times I wished he was beside me watching our daughter grow and discover something new. I am BLESSED to be an ARMY wife. I'm PROUD of Scottie and the entire 527th MP Co. But as you can see once the doors opened we were all smiles!

"American Soldier"

I'm just trying to be a father,
Raise a daughter and a son,
Be a lover to their mother,
Everything to everyone.
Up and at 'em bright and early,
I'm all business in my suit,
Yeah, I'm dressed for success from my head down to my boots,
I don't do it for money, there's still bills that I can't pay,
I don't do it for the glory, I just do it anyway,
Providing for our future's my responsibility,
Yeah I'm real good under pressure, being all that I can be,
And I can't call in sick on Mondays when the weekends been to strong,
I just work straight through the holidays,
And sometimes all night long.
You can bet that I stand ready when the wolf growls at the door,
Hey, I'm solid, hey I'm steady, hey I'm true down to the core,
And I will always do my duty, no matter what the price,
I've counted up the cost, I know the sacrifice,
Oh, and I don't want to die for you,
But if dying's asked of me,
I'll bear that cross with an honor,
'Cause freedom don't come free.
I'm an American soldier, an American,
Beside my brothers and my sisters I will proudly take a stand,
When liberty's in jeopardy I will always do what's right,
I'm out here on the front lines, so sleep in peace tonight.
American soldier, I'm an American,
An American,
An American Soldier

Grins & Giggles

Have to get my tears out.

Kynsley was so happy to be in her daddy's arms again. She said, I am so happy but I have to get my tears out. I wonder who she gets her little tender heart from?
