Happy Father's Day

Daddy with his lil' angel. She still looks just like her daddy. He has her so spoiled rotten its not even funny. She truely loves him and he loves her!

Scottie got a golf gift basket from Kynsley. Filled with all kinds of golf accessories. The only thing I knew was the golf balls, I wasn't so sure about the other stuff but he said he could use all of it. We also got him a NFL Madden game and the GPS system he's been wanting. So he doesn't have to ask for directions anymore. We named the GPS "evie" after one of my good friends, who's always right! We love you Evie! Happy Fathers Day to one of the best dads in the world!

Colmberg Castle

This hotel is located In Franconia, known by far for its beauty. The documentary history of the castle at Colmberg reaches back to the first millennium. Human settlement in this area goes as far back as the late Stone Age, and discoveries indicate Roman activities here as well. In 1318 the castle was sold by the owner Earl Friedrich von Truhendingen to his uncle Friedrich IV von Hohenzollern along with the adjacent town of Leutershausen,. The castle was never conquered, nor apparently had it ever suffered serious damage. Because of this good fortune in its early history and the good luck to have been acquired by Hans Unbehauen, the master mason that saw to its preservation in 1964, the castle is in remarkable condition.

For our 1 year anniversary Scottie, Kynsley, and I went to the Colmberg castle. We felt like royalty. When we arrived we were all excited. The smell reminded me of my great-grandparents house. The smell of old wood burning cook stove. The wooden floors up to our room creaked. Our view from our window seat was beautiful. We truely had a romantic evening.

true Princess

What better way to treat his 2 favorite girls than a night at a castle. We felt like a true princess!

Thursday

its Strawberry time

Its strawberry season and we're lovin' it! Scottie made us strawberry milkshakes, and I made a strawberry shortcake(from scratch). I'm hoping to find a field to go pickin'. Scottie loves strawberry freezer jam and I'm going to attmept to make some this year.

Saturday

MP organizational day

A "friendly" game of b-ball turned into a trip to a local post clinic...don't worry he is fine, he didn't realize he was hurt until he saw the blood all over his shirt! But you know me, I was freakin out..I thought the blood was coming from his eyeball at first. He has a small cut just under his right eye. Kynsley is obsessed with it and is constantly telling us that "daddy has a boo-boo"!

a day at the Lake

Scott and Chad finally got a day off together so we could all hang out! We enjoyed a relaxing day at the lake by our house. The water was full of sail boats, windsurfers, and people flying these huge kites. It was a beautiful day with temp about 85 with a nice cool breeze coming off the water. We look forward to going back.

I need a quick snack break!

Scottie and Kynsley had fun playing in the water!

Thursday

Are we there yet???

I love traveling with my husband. When I say stop, he does even if its on the side of the road. It may take us longer to get to our destinations but if we see something interesting we stop and explore.

The cabin we stayed in our first two nights.

Around town

I'm all ready to go....

Scottie discovered this beautiful cross on the top of the mountain behind the cabin we stayed in.

Even in Germany, leave it to me to find Mickey!

Don't ask, I don't know! But they were everywhere, I kept taking pictures of them until Scottie told me to stop.

Wednesday

Family Vacation-Garmish, Germany

We were able to travel to Neuschwanstein/Fussen during our trip. The Neuschwanstein castle is situated in 1008 meters elevation. So you know me, I need to be treated like a princess. Scottie took Kynsley and I on a horse drawn carriage to the castle so we didn't have to walk. I felt like I was in a fairytale.
King Ludwig II had it built between the 1869 and 1884 as knight's castles came into fashion. The castle was built on the same site of the Schwanstein, the castle he grew up in as a child. We were unable to take pictures on the inside but were able to get a few shots from the windows. The views were breath taking. I was so excited to be there, considering this was the castle that inspired Walt Disney to have castles in his theme parks.
