Mark Schultz concert

She walked to the mailbox On that bright summers day Found a letter from her son In a war far away
He spoke of the weather And good friends that he'd made Said I'd been thinking 'bout dad And the life that he had Thats why I'm here today And that the end he said You are what I'm fighting for It was the first of the letters from war
She started writing You're good and you're brave What a father that you'll be someday make it home make it safe
She wrote every night as she prayed
Late in December A day she'll not forget Oh her tears stained the paper With every word that she read
It said "I was up on a hill I was out there alone When the shots all rang out And bombs were exploding And thats when I saw him He came back for me And though he was captured A man set me free And that man was your son He asked me to write to you I told him i would, oh I swore" It was the last of the letters from war
And she prayed he was living Kept on believing And wrote every night just to say
You are good And you're brave what a father that you'll be someday Make it home Make it safe Still she kept writing each day
Then two years later Autumn leaves all around A car pulled in the driveway And she fell to the ground And out stepped a captain Where her boy used to stand
He said "mom I'm following orders From all of your letters And I've come home again", He ran into hold her And dropped all his bags on the floor Holding all of her letters from war
Bring him home
One day in the car Scottie says to me, I love this song! So we started searching for the Mark Schultz cd, with the song "Letters from War". We couldn't find it anywhere. So our local radio station Z 88.3 www.Zradio.org has a segment where once a week they "Make someone Happy" So I wrote in asking if they could make Scottie happy and help us find this cd. That was about 2 months ago, still no cd! On Tuesday, Oct. 18, I received a call at work from the afternoon DJ, Lisa Williams. She asked if I would still like to make Scottie happy? She explained that the cd just came out that weekend before and they have a copy to give to Scottie. They also gave him a DVD of Marks latest tour. I was so excited! But then she says, "giving someone just a cd is not good enough for us, as you may already know Mark is going to be in town this Saturday night for a private concert, and we've chosen Scottie to be a honored guest on the front row." I bursted out into tears thanking her over and over again. She was asking me all these questions about us and Scottie's career in the USAirforce, I was trying to talk to her but I couldn't stop crying! That Saturday night we went to the Mark Schultz concert. He sang all of our favorite songs, "He's my son", "Remember Me", many others, and Letters from War." We both got to go back stage and meet Mark. What a night to remember. We were so thankful to be there and so honored to be "special guest"!!

Wednesday

Baby Shower

My mommie planned for us to have a shower when we were in NC. We received so many nice gifts from many friends and family. My sister Beverly and my Aunt Serena decorated the house and my Aunt Serena made our delicious cake. Thank you so much to everyone who came to our shower and thank you for all of the gifts!

MMMM......Smores

When we went to NC my daddy had the great idea of building a fire and making smores. We never got to the bomb fire but we made smores on the grill! They were so messy and soooo yummy!

Tuesday

A GREAT Accomplishment

My mother, I'm so proud of you! YOU DID IT!! Scottie and I traveled up to NC to see my mommie graduate. We went to her graduation on Sunday afternoon and then we had a surprise picnic for her at Fisher River park. Many family members and friends were there to help celebrate this Great Accomplishment!

Lyric and Malachi

Lyric left me the sweetest voice mail this week. She called to see how the baby is doing. She said, " I love you, I love the baby, I love Scottie, I love all the people that live with you, I love your kitty cat!" She always brings a smile to my face. Donna just signed her up for Basketball so we're really excited for her. As for Malachi, he is still all boy! I miss them both so much. These were taken in August when they came down to visit us. We went up to Daytona Beach for the day. This was their first time ever at the ocean, we all had so much fun!

Wednesday

Lady in Waiting

With just 6 weeks to go, I'm starting to get very nervous! Scottie has started his new job and is working late nights again, I hate being home alone. The only good thing is I have full control of the remote! I'm taking the day off tomorrow for appointments and errands. The baby's room is almost finished. We just have a few things left on our list before she arrives. Continue to pray for us as we prepare to bring our little lady into the world!
